Bryant has closed the sale of his Orange Beach waterfront compound for $9.25 million, a price that stands as the highest ever paid for a residential property in Baldwin County and shatters the market’s previous benchmark of $7.4 million. The deal, handled jointly by Engel & Völkers’ Gulf Shores and Pensacola offices with the buyer represented by RE/Max Paradise, closed in February and caps a sale process that stretched back to the property’s debut on the market in May 2025, when it was listed at roughly $10.9 million.

The estate sits on Canal Road, where more than four acres of grounds give way to direct water access along the bay side of Orange Beach, a stretch of coastline increasingly drawing comparisons to the Southeast’s most established luxury markets. Bryant and his wife assembled the property in 2016, paying $1.78 million for the 4.3-acre parcel before spending close to two years bringing a custom residence to life. The result became a personal retreat where dolphins and ospreys were regular visitors and where, by Bryant’s own account, water was visible from nearly every room in the house.

The listing drew significant interest from out-of-state buyers over its year on the market, brokers involved in the deal said, and the home was singled out as a standout luxury listing by national real estate outlets during that stretch. Bryant, who retired from professional football in 2019 after brief, unofficial flirtations with a comeback, has kept a relatively low public profile in retirement, and the identity of the buyer has not been disclosed. For Orange Beach, agents describe the sale less as an outlier than as a reset — a sign that buyers are increasingly willing to pay top dollar for scale, privacy, and true waterfront access along this part of the Alabama coast.

The residence spans 8,964 square feet and includes seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and two half baths, laid out across a design Bryant has said was oriented almost entirely around water views. The property includes a private guest house, deepwater access suited to a yacht, roughly 190 feet of private beach frontage, and a resort-style saltwater pool and spa. Among its more distinctive amenities is a 1,400-gallon saltwater aquarium built into the home.

Construction was approached with the region’s hurricane risk squarely in mind: the home rests on steel-beam framing engineered to withstand a Category 5 storm, sits on an elevated 20-foot base, and is backed by buried propane tanks feeding a generator system built to keep the property running through extended power outages. The combination of storm-hardened engineering and resort-level finishes is part of what brokers pointed to in describing the sale as a new benchmark for estate-level properties on this stretch of coast.
